Commemorating the 25 years since Atlético Nacional de Medellín became the first Colombian team to dominate the continent, and celebrating San Lorenzo de Almagro´s recent title in the Copa Libertadores, the Copa Campeones de América was played on January 17, 2015 in Miami, Florida. The match took place in Florida International University's new stadium, with a capacity for 20.000 people, and was broadcasted live in the USA and Middle Eastern countries by BeIn Sports, and in all of Central and South America by FOX Sports.
